Re-Evalutating the Classics Category

Alright. Lately, there has been a situation with the Classics Category. The Classics category pretty much holds articles that were created before and within a year after the wiki was created. Since this wiki is still a baby wiki, only being a year and 5 months old, I have three options relating to the category.

Option A: Re-classify the time period when the category is allowed on articles, and revoke the rule that Suggested Reading and Classics as a conflicting category.

What this means is that articles that were created before the wiki was created, and within a 2-4 month period, that are qualitative, are put in this category. And the rule that separates Classics and Suggested Reading from being together on a page is removed from our rules.

Option B: Re-classify the time period when the category is allowed on articles, but keep the rule separating Suggested Reading and Classics.

Same thing as option A, but the site keeps the rule separating SR and Classics

Option C: We get rid of the Classics Category.

The wiki seems to be in the wrong period to have this category allowed on this wiki. It's over a year old, and shouldn't have the category. The category will be removed from articles and, if they are worthy, will be replaced with the Suggested Reading category.

So, to start off voting, I feel like Option A. It's confusing to have an article that was created in October of 2013 to be in this category.

EDIT: I am actually changing my vote to Option C. The site is too young to have this category to be on here. Agreeing with what Xelrog said, and disagreeing with what Callie said.

    • So the age actually matts as to how we have it set up? It shouldn't.

The first year of creation didn't have a SR category until the year was almost up. Since Classics is the first SR as well as other classic spin off pastas, none of these, because the current classics are effectively the classics.

Wat. The Classics category came after the Suggested Reading category. During the whole issue on Creepypasta, where the site was actually evaluating the Suggested reading, Crashing came with the idea of the Classics category. I do see where you are coming from, and I do agree with you. But having the classics category on an article, just two months before the SR category was actually made, shouldn't make it prone to the article being IN classics.

Because, what you're saying, is that most of the articles in Suggested Reading, like Sonic, should be in Classics.

Sonic wasn't part of the first SR. It came just after.

    • This is just a curious question. Before the Suggested Reading category was instituted on the wiki, how did Suggested Reading flow?

      There wasn't.

Huh. So, pretty much, what's going through my mind, is that it was just a recommendation?

    • I like Option B. It's a good idea to follow until the time is right to have a Classic category after the site has matured more

    • I vote for Option C. This site is too young to have classics anyway.

    • I go with Option B. Megafan and I think the same.

    • Option C. The whole point of the Classics category on the Creepypasta wiki was so that people would have a place to find and read up on the many super-famous and commonly-referenced pastas like Slenderman, Jeff, Sonic.exe, etc. without regard to quality simply due to the fact that they were so widely referenced. The issue was that these pastas were being kept for posterity in the Suggested Reading category, and people thought that that implied that some of them were quality pastas when the general consensus was that many (Jeff, Sonic.exe)...weren't.

There's no reason to have a Classics category on this wiki because all of these super-famous Classic pastas are on Creepypasta Wiki. I don't know how it got started over here in the first place.
