These are the Quality Standards of the wiki - what we look for in a passable story. Note that these are applied mainly to stories where the mentioned elements detract from the story itself.

Please note that unlike on the Creepypasta Wiki, these are only guidelines. Passing these guidelines is not, in fact, a requirement. However, any story that fails these standards may be edited to comply with them by any site user.

Also note that these are minimal standards. If you write according to these standards, the story won't necessarily be good, but it won't be as bad as it could be.

Additionally, there are certain standards which will help you immensely.

Minimal Requirements

  1. Before you post your article to this site, proofread and spell-check the document. This includes—but is not limited to—the proper use of capitalization, spelling, punctuation, spacing, and paragraphs. Most document editors, with the exclusion of notepad, have a spellcheck and a grammar check feature built in. Failing that, there's always SpellCheck.net. You may also use source mode in the wiki editor to spell check.
  2. If you upload a pasta that is terribly unedited or is a massive wall of text, you acknowledge that it might be deleted without a fair review, perhaps even as soon as it is uploaded. You will then be warned about this and given a link to SpellCheck.net and our simple Writing Guide for basic information on how to write better.
  3. Pages that are a single, massive block of text (Wall-o-Text) are uninteresting and impossible to read. All of the terrible spelling and grammar really make the site look uneducated and childish on the whole. If you're lucky, these stories won't be deleted. If you're not lucky, they will.
  4. This is not to say you must upload pages without any mistakes or you will be banned. This is to cut back on the kinds of pages that are either Each Word Capitalized, or where the author has some weird aversion to ever using a capital letter and/or spaces after punctuation.

Titles

As this is a literature site, all titles must be properly capitalized. If you do not have no clue on how to title titles properly, please use this link or look at our writing guide for help.

Main Parts

  • All stories should have a consistent, and continuous plot. The plot of each story should be decent and formulate a sequence of events.
    • Worst-case scenario: If a story does not have a consistent, continuous plot, we might assume you stole it and mangled it to hide the evidence. This is because some people do that, just changing words willy-nilly because they want to vomit someone else's chewed-up story on the site.
  • Spelling that the reader cannot understand is not encouraged here. If you don't care about spelling, people might misinterpret your words when fixing it.
    • Also, know the differences: "Your" (possessive) "You're" (You are). "There" (A place) "Their" (possessive) "They're" (They are.) "It's" (It is) "Its" (possessive)
  • There should be a good level of description. Not too little so that the story comes out vague/bland/boring, not too much so that it doesn't halt the story line.
  • All stories should have some sort of hook, or something to grab hold and attach the reader to the story.
  • Certain writing "styles" will probably be fixed, unless they are in a note or in text within the plot of the story. If someone within the story is writing a note, it probably can be written like this. Otherwise, it will be changed to resemble the text on this article.
    • Please Do Not Capitalize Every Single Word In The Story Like This. This Is Literally The Hardest One To Fix.
    • PLEASE DO NOT WRITE THE ENTIRE THING IN UPPERCASE LIKE THIS. THIS IS ALSO HARD TO FIX.
    • please do not write the entire thing in lowercase like this. this is still hard to fix.
  • If your entire story has really weird formatting, the formatting might be removed with no questions asked. If the article just changes the text of the layout, it will have the formatting removed from the article.
  • There are no exceptions to your story being a massive wall of text. If you upload a wall of text your story will probably be edited to insert paragraphs.

FAQ

My article has been deleted by an administrator. What should I do?
If you think that your story has been deleted unjustly (or that you want it back on the site), you can always petition your story in the deletion appeal, once you've gotten word that it was deleted. The administrators here will tell you what was wrong with the article, bit by bit.
My article has been denied on the Deletion Appeal, but I want my article back. What should I do?
Ask the administrators. They can give you back the text of the story.
There are humor articles on here. Doesn't that stop, or put a halt, to the quality?
Humor articles are subjected to the same guidelines as above, and must not fall under the category of being a trollpasta. They must not be riddled with bad spelling/grammatical issues, should consist of a good plot, and should have the same level of description as any other article should. For more further information, read the rules for humor articles.
Do I have to spell everything correctly in a dialogue area? I want to intentionally misspell a certain character's dialogue.
This is a rather crude way to indicate someone is speaking in a dialect, but sure, go ahead. Keep in mind someone might edit it to conform with the English dictionary anyways. If you really want, you can undo the edit, or ask an administrator for help.
How are these standards enforced?
These standards are enforced in many ways. If there are a few errors, a user/admin/RCaDC member will edit and remove those errors. Sometimes it can mean adding on to stuff to make it actually be worth something.
These are way too strict! You're all just a bunch of corrupt assholes who delete stories for fun! You deleted my pasta that my second grade teacher liked even though it was riddled with grammar errors, plotholes, and was a wall of text! I'm going to Deviantart!
Cool story bro.
