(Twelve-year-old Jimmy Black hugs his parents as they visit him in the hospital.) All but a few weeks ago, young Jimmy Black had been abducted. He was taken to an undisclosed eviorment, where he was sadistically beaten, bruised and starved. The abduction took place on the night of March 2, 2012.
“I was just playing,” stated Jimmy, “and then a tall man came out of no where and kidnapped me. I was very scared, and I asked him where he was taking me, but he didn’t say anything. He ended up taking me to a very dark and shady area of the forest. He had what looked to be tentacles protuding from his back. The man whipped and hit me with them. I made a run for it, but he caught my legs like lightning and dragged me back behind a tree.
“He said, in a deep, dark voice, ‘There is no escape’ and then I passed out. When I awoke, I found myself hanging a few feet above a stream, and I was hanging by a rope which was hastily tied to a tree. The man was there, too, and he was laughing. I screamed and started crying, and the man laughed even more, and I cried harder. My eyes were streaming with tears, and before I knew it he cut the rope and I plummetted down into the river and almost drowned.
“The man pulled me out of the river and took me to another cave. There were spider-webs and bugs crawling everywhere, and in the center of the whole place there was a chair. This was no ordinary chair, though. It was studded in diamonds, rowed with beautiful gems and jewels that glittered. Above the chair there was a wooden cross, and yes, I am a christian. Then the man forced me to sit down in the chair. I did so.
“Then he strapped me to it very quickly with barb-wire. The pain was unbarable. I screamed so hard, I think someone might have heard me. There was fresh blood trickling down my arms, and my flesh was torn. The more I squirmed the tighter the barb-wire got and the deeper the wounds got. Then the man put his hand on my forehead.
“Suddenly, I felt a very bad heat come to my forehead. I was sweating. It hurt so badly. Then the man revealed his face… well… he didn’t have one. He just had a blank face, no eyes mouth or anything, except for the outline of a nose. Then my forehead hurt even more. The man laughed, and pressed harder, and the pain was white hot now. I thought he set fire to my head… until he let go…
“Steam was lacing around me. He un-strapped me and brutally whipped me, and before I knew it, I was in a hospital bed. My parents were standing over me, looking very worried. My mother asked me if I was okay. I said yes. She hugged me, and kissed me, and then my brother went and fetched a mirror, and brought it to me. I looked in to see a horrific sight: There was a scar shaped like a cross on my forehead. I tried wiping it away… but it didn’t work. It was like Harry Potter. Then a faint pain came into my head, and then I started hearing a faint buzzing noise. I looked over to see the man was among the nurses and doctors, staring at me. Then a nurse walked in front of him and he disappeared.”
Jimmy cuts off there; too afraid to say anything more. He says he’s afraid that if he says too much, the man will come back and get him. But he can’t bear to think that.
